The Gol Mandir, a 200-year-old Hanuman temple, stands at the busy intersection of Gokhale Road and Sambhunath Pandit Street in South Kolkata. A vital spiritual and cultural landmark, the temple has long drawn large numbers of devotees. With signs of structural aging, a comprehensive restoration and revival project was undertaken to preserve its historic character while enhancing stability, functionality, and sustainability.
The design carefully balances heritage conservation with contemporary building practices, ensuring the temple retains its sacred aura while meeting present-day needs. Through meticulous planning, the project redefines spatial organization and circulation, incorporating structural reinforcements and upgraded amenities. The revitalized Gol Mandir now stands as a timeless fusion of tradition and modernity—renewing its spiritual and architectural presence in the heart of Kolkata.
