Designed on the outskirts of Kolkata for a widely travelled client, this contemporary residence adopts an organic layout featuring curved walls, staircases, balconies, and structural elements inspired by the client’s vision.
The interiors showcase modern finishes and amenities, with carefully detailed structural systems that eliminate the need for false ceilings. Externally, 5 mm textured paint in varied hues gives the appearance of natural stone cladding, adding richness to the façade. A rooftop garden with a swimming pool ensures privacy and leisure, while extensive landscaping seamlessly extends the built form into the outdoors. A 15-foot-tall glass brick wall along the staircase acts as a striking architectural feature, illuminating the interiors with diffused natural light.
Completed in 2002, the residence embodies a refined balance of organic form, material expression, and modern comfort.
