Just across the Netaji Subhash Chandra International Airport in Kolkata stands a new structure which is notable for its sculptural design. Fortune Airview is a two-storied commercial building that lies at the junction of the national highway on the east side and a narrow road on the north side. The building has a contemporary state-of-the-art look, and aerodynamic look. It's an economical building which would provide maximum flexibility and functionality. Flexibility was required keeping in mind that they would lease out the space.
The design of the building has been inspired from nearby surroundings. For instance, a huge overhanging canopy on the front and at the sides of the building reduces in width as it recedes from the eye. This element of design draws inspiration from the wings of the aircraft.
